Trust HELP is registered as a non-profit charitable trust under the Indian Trust Act, 1882, with registration number 505/1989 (Office of the District Registrar – Madras South, Saidapet, Chennai) and under sections 12 (A) and 80 (G) of the Income Tax Act, 1961, Government of India (entitlement for Income Tax exemption). It is also approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India to receive foreign contributions and registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976, with FCRA registration number 075900536 dated 7th October 1991.
It was founded by Mr. Mohammed Usman, D.C.E., (Residential Address: Haseena’s Nest, No. 4, Sowrashtra Nagar, 4th Street, Choolaimedu, Chennai 600094), a specialist in rural development, with the aim of carrying out projects for community development mainly in the fields of health, environment and education for the downtrodden people of the country.
