Trust HELP is involved in a media project that is " tracking how ordinary people rebuild lives and livelihoods after the Asian tsunami disaster" called the "CHILDREN OF TSUNAMI - Rebuilding the Future"
TVE Asia Pacific’s Children of Tsunami regional communications initiative tries to capture how affected families are rebuilding and returning to normalcy. To personalise the mass of statistics, aid pledges and recovery plans, it looks at how all this affects eight children, their immediate families and communities. From February to December 2005, local TV journalists and filmmakers in the four hardest hit countries -- India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand -- have been making monthly visits to the chosen families. They try to find out what progress - if any - has been made, and record impressions of the children and family members. This material is packaged journalistically for broadcast, online and other media platforms. By following the evolving stories of the eight children -- through monthly video reports and website -- audiences will be able to find out answers to these and other questions:
